How to obtain a Vietnam visa in Australia
Depending on your travel purpose and circumstances, there are three official methods to apply for a visa for Vietnam while residing in or traveling through Australia.
- Visa at the Embassy/Consulate
- You can apply in person for a traditional/sticker visa at the Vietnamese Embassy or one of its Consulates in Australia. This visa allows entry by land, sea, or air.
- Visa on Arrival (for air travelers)
- If you are flying to Vietnam and do not have time to visit an embassy, you can arrange for a visa on arrival with pre-approval from the Vietnamese immigration authorities.
Note: This option is valid only for air entry.
- Online through the E-Visa system
- Vietnam’s eVisa allows Australian travelers to apply online for a single- or multiple-entry visa, valid for land, sea, or air travel. The fee is 25 USD (~38 AUD) for single entry and 50 USD (~75 AUD) for multiple entry. Applications can be made via the official Immigration Department website (evisa.gov.vn) or through authorized travel agencies.
Questions and Answers (01)
I am travelling from Melbourne Australia to Vietnam for holidays, arrive at Ho Chi Minh terminal 2 international then continue flight to Phu Quoc international airport. Is this considered a multiple entry or single entry?
@Julie, you only need a single-entry visa to travel between Ho Chi Minh City and Phu Quoc Island, and vice versa. A multiple-entry visa is not required.
