Transit visa for 6 hours

Question:

Dear team,

I have a question, as EU citizen (Italy) for up to 15 days I do not need visa, in my case I will be 15 days in Vietnam, travel from Barcelona to Hanoi, after that I will go to Japan for  1 week in Japan and then I will get back to Hanoi (just to stay at the airport for 6 hours) for waiting my next flight from Hanoi to Barcelona (my home town now)

Do I need a visa for just 6 hours waiting my next flight  to Barcelona? I will not go to the city, I will remain at the Hanoi  Airport? If I need visa, is there any In transit visa? Or definitely I need single entry Visa?

Many Thanks

Roberto Martini

Answer

Hello Roberto,

If your second entry is just for the transit flight back to Barcelona and you do not leave the customs area, you will not need a visa in this case.

We live in Australia and the last time we've been to Italy was in June 2019 but we are holding an Italian passport can you please give us some information regarding this topic and what we can do about it?

Thank you for taking the time to read my request, looking forward to hear from you soon.
