Hello there, My husband and I both filled out our visa's together, both identical except the personal information, my visa was accepted but my husbands was rejected and said needs amending for needs additional information, "all required information." This is same problem as Derek Leebosh also posted on this forum. Can you give any insight on how to resolve this issue? Thank you very much.
@Shaylynn O’Leary, if you see the error alert “all required information,” it means you missed some required details, such as emergency phone numbers or your current residential address. You can also email us a screenshot of your application, and we will help you review the information and identify the missing parts.
I am Canadian and I applied for my e-visa two weeks ago and it keeps being rejected because they say I need to provide “all required information”. But I’ve gone through my form very carefully and I have given them every single piece of information that they ask for!! I’m starting to panic because I leave Canada on Dec. 21 (not actually arriving in Vietnam until Jan. 11) and I’m afraid that I will never get my visa because some flaw in their system keeps telling them I haven’t filled in all the information when in fact I have! What can I do?
@Derek Leebosh, you can send us an email with a screenshot of your application. We will review it and help identify any missing information that may have caused it to be rejected.
Hi my husband and I applied for evisa on the very day they switched to their new website - Nov 11/24. I was able to apply for my husband and I and then the website crashed. The next day I applied for my daughter. We've got the visa's but my daughters visa has her surname first, given first name, then her middle name. My husband's and I are switched around. Our given names are first and our surname is last. I put our names down in the correct boxes - surname box with our surname then given name box with our given names, I did the exact same for my daughter. Do you think this will be a problem? immigration getting on flight etc...? Thanks
@Lynn Marini, the name order is not important as long as the e-Visa displays all your names as they appear in your passport; there should be no issues. However, If your application is still pending and requires changes, its status will update to ‘requiring amendment,’ allowing you to make the necessary modifications.
my Evisa asks for amending as I put my work address in the local organisation contact section now when I try to amend it still gets declined for same reason and nobody answers phone to speak about it
@Shane Wilson, The new application form requires your permanent residential address. Could you confirm if you entered the address correctly? Immigration officers may verify this information before approving the visa application.
Hi, I applied for a visa Monday 4th November and I fly november 12th (Tomorrow) at 2pm Thailand time. When I check online it says it’s still processing, but I received an email saying it’s been processed, but when I click on the new domain it doesn’t work. I’m not sure what to do, should I apply for an expedited visa? Is there someone I can call to find out if it’s been processed?
@Joseph, the merge between the two websites may take some time to complete. Could you check the status again below? We believe it should be working now:
https://evisa.xuatnhapcanh.gov.vn/web/guest/tra-cuu-ho-so
Hi, My family visa (husband and 2 children) all came through in a couple of days. Mine is now 10 days after applying and not through. We fly in 3 days time so I am getting a little bit anxious?
@Kayleigh, the Immigration Office has recently updated the e-visa website with a new design and domain name, which may be causing the delay. Kindly check your application status via the new website:
https://evisa.gov.vn/e-visa/search
If you haven’t heard from them by today, it might be helpful to contact their support team here:

Hello, I requested my visa on Saturday, November 2nd. We are flying to Vietnam on Friday, November 8th. I haven't heard anything from the visa yet, it still says „in process“. I'm getting nervous that it won’t arrive in time.
@Lara Krammer, E-visa approval processing usually takes 3-5 working days. In your case, 07 Nov will be the 4th working day, so we’re hopeful you’ll receive it by Thursday end of day. You can check your application status here:
https://evisa.xuatnhapcanh.gov.vn/web/guest/tra-cuu-thi-thuc
I requested an e visa on october 28. The day after I received a message back that I made a mistake in my personal details and that I should update these (no extra fees were required). I haven’t heard back after I updated these inmediately. What should I do. I am travelling Thursday to Vietnam.
@Maxime, if you’ve just updated your application, the approval time will reset, requiring an additional 2-3 working days for processing. We recommend checking your application status regularly to ensure no further amendments are needed.

Hello, I've applied for my evisa on 26 October and travelling to Vietnam on 31 October (flight time 21:30h) CET form the Netherlands. I'm concerned I won't get an approval in time. What is the latest date and time I should ask for an urgent visa? Many thanks!
@Linsey, if you haven’t received your visa by 12:00 PM Vietnam time on 30 Oct, you can either request expedited evisa service or apply for a pre-approved visa letter for visa on arrival. Since you applied on 26 Oct, today (29 Oct) is the second working day, and evisa approval usually takes 3 working days under normal circumstances.
Hello, I applied for 4 visas for myself and my family on 17Oct while the travel was on 26Oct. I have received for myself and 2 of my family members on 23Oct but the 3rd visa was sent back for some query. I re-applied on 23Oct, it is still saying processing as on 24Oct'24. What should I do?
@Magesh Kantharaj, the amended application may take another day or two for approval, assuming all requirements are met. We recommend you to the status page regularly for updates:
https://evisa.xuatnhapcanh.gov.vn/trang-chu-ttdt
If you haven’t received the approval by mid-day (12:00 PM Bangkok time) Friday, 25 October, you can consider applying for a visa on arrival as an alternative, in case your e-Visa doesn’t arrive in time.
Hello! I finished my e-visa monday (21st oct) and my flight is at monday afternoon (28th october) - Portuguese time. How long should I wait before getting an expedited service? Thanks, Sofia
@Sofia Silva, You can wait until 6:00 AM on Monday, Vietnam time, or 12:00 AM on Monday, Portugal time, before applying for expedited service. However, we hope that you’ll receive it by Friday this week.
We applied for 3 e visas in one application to enter Vietnam on 13 October. Only one persons evisa arrived, the other two are still waiting on approval. Should I apply for an emergency visa?
@Katrina Hausia, You still have 5 days left before your arrival date. We suggest that you wait until late Thursday to decide whether to use the emergency visa for your entry on Sunday (Oct 13).
Hello, I applied for an e-visa on 7.3. 16:17 Vietnamese time, unfortunately I did not provide the full address of the accommodation. I am leaving on Monday at 10 am. How should I proceed, should I apply for an emergency visa? Thank you
@Šárka Minářová, it is recommended that you wait until noon on Monday (Vietnam time) before checking the status of your application. If you have not provided a full residential address in Vietnam, the status will be changed to 'amending application', requiring you to update your actual address in Vietnam.
I applied for a evisa on Feb 26th. On Feb 28th, I got a response to amend my application as I had not written the address off the hotel in full when I applied. I resubmitted it. When should I expect a response from them? Should I do the expedited processing? I want to get my visa by Friday March 1st.
@David, if your application requires updates or amendments, approval may take a few additional days, provided that you have resubmitted everything correctly. We recommend that you regularly check the status of your application for any further notices.

Hello dear Sir/Madam, on January 27th I left Vietnam and on the same day I applied for the tourist e-visa, today I got an answer that my application is amended because currently I am in Vietnam 🇻🇳, but since January 27th I am in Cambodia 🇰🇭, please let me know what can I do? Thanks
@Ararat Danelyan, it is not possible to obtain a new visa while you are still in Vietnam on an existing visa. Therefore, we advise that you exit Vietnam before applying for a new visa to return.
Hi , we had applied for a e-visa through a travel agent . The agent has made a spelling mistake in my last name . We have received our visa with the same mistake . We are travelling in 3 days . Can I apply for a new e-visa ?
@Sam, we recommend that you apply for a new visa with the correct information, as you cannot use the current one due to the spelling mistake in your last name.
Hi, I have a granted e-visa but it contains my old passport number. I receive my new passport tomorrow. Our flight to Hanoi is on January 10th at 10am. Is it possible to apply for a new e-visa or do I have to make a request to change the passport number on my granted e-visa?
@Esmée Wirtz, It is not possible to make changes to your existing e-visa. Therefore, we advise that you apply for a new emergency e-visa or obtain an approval letter for a visa on arrival using your new passport.
Hi I applied for my e-visa on January 4 around 4pm but my flight is on the 9th of Jan at 9pm. What is the latest time I should wait before applying for an expedited e-visa service that allows my visa to come on arrival. Is it better to apply for an emergency visa on arrival or an expedited e-visa service in this scenario?
Hello Sally, we advise that you wait until 12:00 noon on Monday, January 8th, to see if you receive your e-visa. If you do not receive it by then, you may consider using expedited service or emergency visa-on-arrival options.
Hi I did my e visa today (Friday) and my flight is at 11pm next Wednesday (10th). How long should I wait before getting an expedited service? Thanks Jemima
Hello Jemima, you can wait until Wednesday morning before considering the expedited service. Hopefully, you will receive your e-visa by that time.
Hey I applied for my Visa on 30 January. I missed my booked flight on 2nd but wanting to know if I should expedite the visa or wait another day before doing so?
Hello, if you applied on December 30th, then today (January 2nd) is the first working day since your application. Therefore, we advise you to wait one more day before applying for an emergency visa on arrival or an expedited e-visa service.
P.S.: If you have already rescheduled your flight, it is advisable to wait for your e-visa to be issued before booking another one.

I am yet to receive the visa result. There is no reply from the Vietnam Immigration department for the emails or feedback sent. Dont know what else i can do.
Hi, applied visa on December 14th for 2 applicants but only one got approved and our flight is on December 21st. Can i expedite my e-visa?
@Nishit, It is not possible to expedite an ongoing e-visa application at the moment. Therefore, we advise that you wait for your visa application to be processed or consider rescheduling your flight if it does not come in time.
Hi - I wanted to check if 25th Dec (Monday) is a holiday at the embassy or is it a normal working day? I have applied for an e-visa. And wanted to confirm if I should count 25th Dec as a normal working day.
@Nakul Kothari, Yes, December 25th is still a working day in Vietnam, and it may not affect the visa application process.
Hi there - I applied for the e visa on Sunday and our flight is on Thursday. Is it possible to expedite this? Thank you! If not, can we apply for emergency visa on arrival with a colour scan of passport, passport style photos (ie small) and a printed receipt of the hotels that we are staying in for the entire 2 week trip?
@John R, The e-visa application process usually takes 3-5 working days. If you applied on Sunday, you may receive it around Friday. We recommend waiting until noon on Wednesday to check for your e-visa status. If you haven't received it by then, you can consider applying for an emergency approval letter for visa on arrival.
Hi - I just submitted my visa application directly through the embassy (14th December) for my flight on the 20th December. I have been reading that visa processing may take 4-6 Business Days. Is it possible to request an expedited visa with MyVietnamVisa ?
@Nancy Lee, It is not possible to expedite your pending e-visa application at the moment. Therefore, we advise that you wait until Tuesday next week to see if you receive your visa, and then decide whether to apply for the emergency visa on arrival.
Will my visa be rejected if the middle name does not appear on the visa application but is on the passport?
Yes, there is a high chance that your visa application will be rejected because the information entered does not match your passport details.
My flight is 11am UK time on Wednesday. I applied over the weekend but it is still processing? Can I apply now for a 24 hour processing visa to ensure I receive it on time? Or would applying now disrupt my original request?
@Ricardo Ricom, We are afraid that it is not possible to expedite an ongoing e-visa application at the moment. Therefore, we advise you to wait for your e-visa to be issued before booking your travel.
I fly tomorrow morning and my visa is still processing. What are my options?
@Liz hoffman, Unfortunately, there is no way to get an emergency visa on the weekend; therefore, we hope that your visa will be issued shortly today!
Hi, we have requested an e-visa on 6/12 4:30 Vietnam time. Could you please let me know what are normal processing times these days and when should we expect them since they are still "in processing" ? Does the third working day rule mean end of working day today 8/12 (18:00 Vietnam time)? Our flight to SGN is next Wednesday 13/12 at 7:00 Vietnam time. When should I expedite this (or apply for emergency visa) if don't receive e-visa? Thanks
@Peter, It normally takes 3-5 working days for an e-visa application to be approved. Therefore, If you do not receive it by midday on 12 December, it is advised that you apply for an emergency visa on arrival just to be sure.
I uploaded the photo but it does not meet the requirements of a passport photo. Should I wait to get a response or should I file for another e visa request?
@Jasmine ho, We advise that you wait for your e-visa application status to change to "amending application" so that you can re-upload your photo within your existing application.
My husband and I sent our requests for Vietnam visas three days ago. Unfortunately when my husband sent his, he had forgot his middle name. I told him this and he sent in a request to add it in within 10 minutes after he initially sent his original. Do you think it will be ok and his name will be corrected since we were quick to change it? Will it take longer than usual?
@Cheyenne Macatangay, Unfortunately, it will cause a delay to your original application because once it is submitted, it cannot be amended until the status changes to "amending application". We advise you to check your application status regularly and update your name once it is open for editing.
I applied for a visa days ago but didn’t list an intended address. My husband’s visa was denied because of that but mine still says in processing. I submitted mine a day earlier than him. Should I submit a new e-visa now or keep waiting? We leave on Monday 12/4.
@Taylor, If your husband's visa was denied because he did not provide a residential address in Vietnam, there is a high chance that your application will also be rejected. We advise you not to submit a new application until you receive the result of the current one.
My e-visa needed me to update my name but I missed the email until now. Flight to Vietnam is tomorrow morning from Chiangmai. I have sent the update but status is “ in processing “ Not sure what to do now. Any help?
@Joseph Deveau, Unfortunately, it is not possible to expedite your pending e-visa application or obtain an emergency visa approval letter by tomorrow morning. Therefore, we advise that you reschedule your flight and wait for your e-visa to be issued.
Hello, I applied for an evisa on November 6. I received an email having me update my address I will be staying in Hanoi. I immediately updated my application. I since have not received anything. My flight is on November 15. What do you recommend I do?
@Andy Brisbois, After you update your application, it may take another day or two for your visa to be issued. If you do not receive it by 13 Nov, you can contact the Immigration office for your application status or apply for an emergency visa approval letter for visa on arrival.
Hi, I have applied for an e visa on the 3rd November, and I received an email with “full name incorrect “ (amending status) on the 7th. I corrected my name immediately and checked again yesterday(the 8th Nov.), it was in processing. I’m planning to Da Nang on the 14th afternoon. What should I do if I can’t get my visa before the 14th? Appreciate your advice!
@Chen, Based on our past experience, the process may take an additional day for the e-visa to be issued after the amendment. We advise that you contact the Immigration office if you do not receive it by Monday.

Hi there, I have applied for an e visa on the 3rd of November and it’s the 8th now but I have yet to receive anything. My flight is on the 13th morning. What should I do? Please advise ! Thank you
@Kennedy loi, The e-visa process takes 3-5 working days. If you applied on the 3rd of November, today (8th November) would be the third working day. We advise you to wait until the end of tomorrow, and if you have not received it by then, you may contact the immigration office directly to inquire about the status of your application.
Hi there, I applied for a Visa early on 5th of October and have not received anything by 9th October end. My flight is on the 11th of October. What should I do if my visa doesn't come tomorrow?
@Leon Wood, You can apply for an emergency visa approval letter for visa on arrival if your e-visa does not arrive on time. If you applied on October 5th, today is the third working day (counting from October 6th and excluding weekends).
Hello, We are two travelers, now in Cambodia due to visa expiring in Thailand. We wanted to visit Vietnam, but applied for e-visa just Yesterday (sunday). We know the time for approval is 3-5 days. But is it possible to speed our application so we have visa tomorrow? Thank you for reply.

Hello, Could you please advise - I was due to fly to Vietnam today but unfortunately my e-visa needed amended due to a middle name. I amended the e-visa on Wednesday 20/09 morning, however this is still processing. My Thailand visa runs out on 28/09 so I need to leave before then. I am a British passport holder and aware that we automatically get 15 days upon arrival in Vietnam. Am I able to travel to Vietnam and use the 15 days whilst awaiting the e-visa to come through, would this be an option? any help and advice would be greatly appreciated! Thank you
@Hollie Walker, UK passport holders are exempt from visa requirements for Vietnam for 45 days. Therefore, if you stay for no longer than 45 days, you do not need a visa.
Hi Lan, Thank you for your answer below. Apologies for so many questions in advance! Should I apply for a new multi entry visa before I depart for Vietnam, Will that impact my current visa? Or Is it possible to apply for another single entry visa once I’m in Vietnam? Or can I change my single entry visa to multi entry once I’m in Vietnam. I’m concerned about the overlapping dates as well (my current single entry visa is from 23rd September to 15th October and the new visa I need for my flight back from Cambodia is for the 13th of October). Or should I only apply for the new visa once I’ve left Vietnam?
@Rush K, While there is no issue with applying for a new multiple-entry visa, it may not be issued in time for your travel date (23rd Sept). Therefore, we advise keeping your current visa and applying for a new one (single entry) once you leave Vietnam.
Hi there! I applied for my e-visa to Vietnam and got it from 23rd September to 15th of October. It is a single entry visa. I plan to fly out to Cambodia for a week (6th of October 13th of October) and fly back to Australia on the early morning of 13th. The issue is that my flight will be visa Ho Chi Minh City and I have a connecting flight which requires me to self check in at Ho Chi Minh City as it’s two separate airlines. I can t tell if I’ll be allow to do that or do I need to apply for another visa? Are you able to advise on that? I’m about to fly to Vietnam so I do t want to re-apply for the visa and risk my existing e-visa becoming invalid. Should I apply of another single entry visa when I get to Vietnam or even a multi entry? I know once a visa is issued it can’t be modified so please helo me understand what my options are.
@Rush K, Yes, if you exit the transit area for self-transfer, you will require another single entry visa. It is not possible to get an emergency visa on weekend, we advise that you consider visa on arrival option for tomorrow, Monday.
Hey I applied for my Evisa and had to update my middle name, this was corrected on 11/09/23 - my application still says processing but I am travelling on 17/09/23 which only leaves tomorrow as the last business day. What should I do? Do you think it will come by the end of day tomorrow? Thanks
@Oona, Normally, it takes an additional day or two for the amended application to be approved. Therefore, we think that your visa will be issued before your travel date. We recommend that you check your e-visa status frequently on the official website for any updates.
Hello. I applied for an e-visa on Sunday 03/09 but I don't have news yet (4 business days). My flight is in 6 days and I have started worrying. What should I do?
@Panos Gklinos, September 3rd and 4th are public holidays and not working days. If you haven't received your e-visa one day before your departure date, we recommend contacting the official website directly for assistance with your e-visa application status.
Hi, I applied for Vietnam e-visa on 31st August which is last Thursday. I got an email saying to re upload my passport ID photo (Passport page image incorrect) on 6th September(Wednesday) which I did on the same day. My flight is tomorrow 9th September (Saturday) and my visa application is still in processing stage. Is there anything you can help to expedite this application? Thank you very much!
@Ravi, Unfortunately, expedited service is not available at this time. You can contact the Immigration office directly through the webpage below for assistance with your application status:

Hello, I applied for a visa over a week ago. I forgot to add my middle name and it was denied. I corrected it and resubmitted. It has been in process for a week. I am supposed to leave in a couple days. Is there anything I can do to get a quick visa?
@Dustin Schierman, Please be advised that there was a long weekend holiday in Vietnam from September 01 to September 04, which may have been the reason for the delay. Furthermore, if an application has errors or requires corrections, it may take longer than usual for the process to be completed. We advise that you do not book your flight before receiving your visa or consider rescheduling it in case you do not receive it 12 hours before your departure.
Hello, am a US citizen and I entered Vietnam on a single visit tourist visa on Aug 5, 2023 that was valid until September 3. I am now flying to Cambodia for 2 days and planned to return to Vietnam, but I just realized my visa was for single use. Am I able to upgrade my visa to multiple entry or can I get a new single entry visa for Vietnam even though my first one has not expired?
@Ashley Leidolf, It is not possible to upgrade your existing e-visa to multi-entry; therefore, you can apply for a new single entry visa while you are in Cambodia. Please note that when you exit Vietnam, the ongoing visa (single entry) will be invalid.
I applied for my e visa on 17/07/2023. The status at the moment is In Processing. I realised today that I have my vision glasses in the photo I have uploaded although they don't have a bulky frame and my eyes and face is clearly visible. I have still sent a request through the official website sharing the concern. Is it that even vision glasses are not considered?
@Vivek, According to the information on the official e-visa website, glasses are not allowed for visa photos. If you have already contacted the Immigration Department, we advise you to wait for their response on how to change or amend your uploaded photos.

We applied for our Visa on Sat June 24th. The e-Visa application required a new photo. We have updated the photo but our travel date is this Saturday July 1st. Will this be enough time to have the visa approved before end of day on Friday?
@Trinity Wardle, We cannot confirm if your visa will be approved by Friday or not. Generally, if your resubmitted application is accepted, it takes another day or two for your e-visa to be issued. We advise you to frequently check the e-visa status page for updates on your application.
I applied for my visa on 9/6, and I got an update on 13/6 that I need to submit a new passport image. I submitted the new passport image on 13/6. When do you think I can receive the visa?
@Anthony Ng, Unfortunately, we are not able tell you when your visa will be approved as it is issued on a case-by-case basis. Normally, the process takes approximately 3 working days. However, if there were errors in your application, it may require an additional 2-3 working days for approval.
Hi, we applied for our Visas on 10/6 and haven’t heard anything yet, even though it’s into the 4th business day. We’re due to travel into Vietnam on 20/6 so starting to get a little worried. Do you know if there’s any reason why Visas might be taking a little longer to process at the moment?
@Steve Allsopp, Normally, it takes 3-5 working days, so we believe that you may receive your visa on Friday (16 June). Please keep checking the "search visa" page on the official website for updates on your application. Sometimes it may take longer if your photos do not meet the requirements by the Immigration office!

@James, The long weekend holiday may have caused a delay, but we believe that you will receive your visa soon, on May 10th. Please stay tuned!
I have applied visa on 3rd May and its almost 4th business day today and still not received visa and I have flight tomorrow so I have to delay flight one more day to 11th. But what do u suggest should I wait tomorrow or should I have to expedite ?please help

Hi there, I applied for e-visa on Monday May 1, and my flight into Vietnam is 11 May. Do you think the visa will be approved in that time or do I need to expedite it ? Thanks

Hello,
my friend and i recently applied for e-visas online through the https://evisa.xuatnhapcanh.gov.vn/ website. It has been 4 days since we applied for the visa and we are yet to hear back, we recently realised we put Hanoi in as the place we are staying rather than the exact hostel we will be staying at. Therefore we think our visas may be denied and we will need to change the information, but we will be arriving on the 14th of april so we won’t have much time to get them re approved before arriving. We are getting a little bit worried that they won’t arrive in time and that we won’t be let onto our non refundable flight. I was looking for your help and if you have any advice on what we should do?
Kind regards,
Zalia Sprott
@Zalia Sprott, As you do not arrive until April 14th, we are confident that your e-visa will be processed in time. Therefore, there is no need to use the expedited service.
Hello,
We are a family of 3 from Canada (ages 8-76). We were in Vietnam then came to Cambodia for 3 days. We did not realize evisa was only single entry so missed our flight back to Hanoi today. We would like to fly back to Hanoi from Siem Reap at 6pm Monday, April 10th. Is this possible? Can you help? Do we need to apply for evisa first and then you can speed up the process? Thank you for any information. If there is any way to get a visa approved on the weekend, Sunday, please let me know.
Thank you,
Trevor Lake
@Trevor Lake, Certainly, 6:00 PM on Monday provides us with sufficient time to process a new e-visa request for you. Please use our online form to submit your request.
Hi there. I have a flight from Sydney to Hanoi - leaving sydney at 8am tomorrow (Monday). I submitted a visa application on Wednesday, but have not received approval yet. The airline say that I can board the plane, but I am concerned about arriving in Hanoi without the visa approval. Can you assist me with expediting approval by tomorrow morning, or at least by tomorrow middayish so I have it when I board by connecting flight from Singapore to Hanoi?
@Christian Hearn, If the airline allows you to board the plane, you may consider flying to Singapore and waiting for your e-visa to be expedited there. Normally, the visa is approved between 12-2:00 PM Vietnam time.
Hope you’re doing well. I found your website online. I am flying in to Vietnam and will arrive in 3 hours.
- I am a US citizen
- I’ve applied for an eVisa 24 hours ago and it is currently in processing status
- I have a return ticket out of Vietnam on 4/10
Hello Ray,
At this time, expedited visas are not available on weekends. We kindly suggest that you reschedule your flight for a later time on Monday or consider flying to an Asian destination first, then waiting for the e-visa to arrive before visiting Vietnam.
