How to obtain a Vietnam visa in United States
Depending on your travel purpose and circumstances, there are three official methods to apply for a visa for Vietnam while residing in or traveling through United States.
- Visa at the Embassy/Consulate
- You can apply in person for a traditional/sticker visa at the Vietnamese Embassy or one of its Consulates in United States. This visa allows entry by land, sea, or air.
- Visa on Arrival (for air travelers)
- If you are flying to Vietnam and do not have time to visit an embassy, you can arrange for a visa on arrival with pre-approval from the Vietnamese immigration authorities.
Note: This option is valid only for air entry.
- Online through the E-Visa system
- Vietnam’s eVisa allows US travelers to apply online for a single- or multiple-entry visa, valid for land, sea, or air travel. The fee is 25 USD for single entry and 50 USD for multiple entry. Applications can be made via the official Immigration Department website (evisa.gov.vn) or through authorized travel agencies.
