I am a permanent resident of Australia, but I do not have a passport. I arrived in Australia on a Refugee visa (subclass 200), so I do not have a passport from my home country, Myanmar. I believe I am eligible to apply for an Australian Certificate of Identity (COI) to travel overseas. However, I am not sure whether Vietnam accepts an Australian COI for a Vietnamese e-visa application. I plan to come and visit my partner for his Graduation. Please guide me which way is possible for me to prepare I have no idea to ask for help how to process it and whether they accept COI or not. I will be so thankful for your answer
@Ko Meh Neh, unfortunately, the online e-visa application will require a valid passport. Therefore, we advise that you contact the embassy or consulate of Vietnam in Australia to obtain your visa before you travel.
Hi. I’ve spoiled for evisa online but it keeps getting rejected saying my photo is from a different source. The photo is of my passport and the face photo is from my passport same photo. I don’t understand how to make this work. I fly out on Wednesday. Is there anything you can do to help me? Thank you.
@Melinda Clough, that error happens because the system detects photos taken/copied from other photo sources (like using a cropped passport image). Here is how to fix it:
- Take a fresh photo: Stand against a plain white wall in good lighting and take a new photo of yourself with your phone (or ask someone to take it for you).
- Upload as Portrait: Use this new photo as your applicant portrait instead of an image from your passport page.
