How to obtain a Vietnam visa in Thailand

Depending on your travel purpose and circumstances, there are three official methods to apply for a visa for Vietnam while residing in or traveling through Thailand.

Visa at the Embassy/Consulate
You can apply in person for a traditional/sticker visa at the Vietnamese Embassy or one of its Consulates in Thailand. This visa allows entry by land, sea, or air.
Visa on Arrival (for air travelers)
If you are flying to Vietnam and do not have time to visit an embassy, you can arrange for a visa on arrival with pre-approval from the Vietnamese immigration authorities.
Note: This option is valid only for air entry.

Online through the E-Visa system
Vietnam’s eVisa allows Thai travelers to apply online for a single- or multiple-entry visa, valid for land, sea, or air travel. The fee is 25 USD (~846 THB) for single entry and 50 USD (~1,693 THB) for multiple entry. Applications can be made via the official Immigration Department website (evisa.gov.vn) or through authorized travel agencies.
