Visa requirement for Tay Trang Border Crossing

Hello,

I am planning to cross from Laos to Vietnam though the Tay-Trang border crossing, on December 8, 2025.

I have heard and read from others that an e-visa may not be accepted at this area and I could be turned away.

Is this possible? Is it better to obtain a visa at the embassy in Luang Prabang before making the journey to the crossing?

I am just looking for a tourist visa.

Hello Lydia,

Tay Trang is one of the approved entry ports for e-visa applications. Therefore, if you enter Vietnam through the Tay Trang border, you are still eligible to apply for an e-visa:
