Traditional dishes of Vietnam and Korean people will be introduced to Hanoians during the Vietnam – Korean Food Festival which will be held at the stadium of the Foreign Language University.
This is the first time both Vietnamese and Korean food culture is highlighted in a festival. During a press conference held yesterday afternoon in Hanoi, Kim Kyung Han, Counsellor of the Embassy of Republic of Korea, the organiser, said the event is special in the way that visitors are also participants as they can play in folk games, enjoy specialties of both countries and take part in food cooking contest.
“The target of the festival is to give both Vietnamese and Korean people a chance to gather together to raise the value of traditional culinary culture of the two countries,” said Kim Hyung Han.
Guests to the festival can also join in a singing contest, in which the Korean will sing in Vietnamese and the Vietnamese will sing in Korean. Each guest is asked to buy a lottery ticket valued at from VND 10,000 and one who wins the prize will get a return ticket for Korea. All the proceeds from the tickets will be donated to charity organisations.
This is one of the activities to mark the 16th anniversary of Vietnam – Korea diplomatic relations establishment. The festival is expected to attract around 6,000 visitors.
