Italian citizens are eligible for a 15-day visa exemption in Vietnam. However, specific requirements must be met:

  • You need to hold a passport that remains valid for at least six months after the arrival date in Vietnam.
  • The passport must have two blank pages for the visa stamp.

If you intend to stay in Vietnam for more than 15 days or participate in non-exempt activities, such as working or studying, a visa is needed.

  2. A completed visa application form, which can be downloaded from the embassy's website or obtained in person.
  3. One recent passport-sized photo.
  4. Payment of the visa fee.
  5. Once the application is submitted, wait for the approval and then retrieve the visa at the embassy.

Apply for e-visa online

If you are planning a trip to Vietnam for either tourism or business purposes, you can apply for a Vietnam e-visa, which permits a single entry and a stay of up to 30 days. Here are the steps to follow for the application process:

  2. Upload a recent passport-style photo and a scanned copy of the biographical page of your passport.
  3. Pay the fee of 25 USD.
  4. If approved, you will receive your e-visa via email in about three working days.

Apply for a visa on arrival

Italian passport holders traveling by air and arriving at one of Vietnam's international airports can obtain a visa on arrival. Follow these steps to obtain the visa:

  1. Obtain a visa approval letter from a reputable visa agency in Vietnam.
  2. Pay the visa approval letter processing fee online using a credit or debit card and wait for the letter to be sent via mail.
  3. Upon arrival at one of Vietnam's international airports, such as Noi Bai or Tan Son Nhat, present the visa approval letter, your passport, and two passport-size photos. Then, pay the visa stamping fee and receive your visa.
