though there may be no problem at Vietnam airport, we strongly suggest you to apply for a new passport before entering Vietnam since you may have troubles at departure airport instead because 6-month validity is an international standard for a passport to travel.

I have the same question for this. I will be traveling to Vietnam on Dec 22-Jan5 and my Passport expires April 22. You had mentioned in the last post that it may be difficult departing from the airport but how about if I am traveling ground? Also, do you know if this will be a problem entering other surrounding countries?

Hi, that works the same, if your passport has less than 6 months of validity, the officers at border may not accept your entry. anyway, please renew your passport before you travel to avoid problems.
